Jonathan will explore the changing security threat environment within NZ from a geo-political and local perspective. He will map the impacts that this challenging landscape and the megatrends (climate change, deteriorating national security environment, economic fragmentation and rapid technological change) might well have on our approach to national and organisational resilience. We need to rapidly change our thinking to address the evolving situation and Jonathan will help us see how we can incorporate these diverse threats in our overall approach to supporting and protecting business operations.
Jonathan has held senior positions within the Security and Intelligence Sector within government and the private sector in the UK, Australia, and NZ. These include managing witness protection, maximum security prison management, Chief Security Officer for NZ Parliament, and Director of National Security Operations for the Ministry of Justice in NZ. Jonathan has a long history in designing security solutions, conducting security investigations, hostage negotiation, threat, and risk assessment and mitigating security risks through proportionate, effective protective security solutions. He prides himself in demystifying security and intelligence as he works in partnership to shape pragmatic solutions to client problems.
